We cannot abandon ancient traditions and practices but we can adapt them to our new understanding of the world. Religion must be able to adapt to new knowledge about the world without rejecting the deep spiritual connections to human history and the natural world that we are a part of.
The Church of Light is first and foremost a Christian Church. We believe that salvation was won for us with the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that mankind is born with inherent sin and that he can only be saved through Christ and the sanctification of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit resides in the brothers and sisters who have been saved by Christ. It is our responsibility to serve Our Lord by ministering to those who would not otherwise seek the Gospel by conventional means.
All humans have an inalienable right and duty to practice their own cultural and spiritual traditions. The Church of Light allows everyone to fuse their individual practices into the foundation of the power of the Holy Spirit and the Love of God. We accept people from any religious background and recognize the validity of all peaceful cultural practices and behaviors as being helpful and necessary in developing the spiritual nature of humanity.
